Microsoft plans to add pop-up blocking features to Internet Explorer next year as part of its Service Pack 2 update for Windows XP, a move that would go far toward stamping out the Web advertisements.

What? M$ u is listening to the outcry from
every web surfer? I think they are doing this for two reasons: 1) Everyone else has done it, even
Apple, so now it is time they get with the program (everybody is doing it, shouldn't we Bill?).
and 2) Many people are moving to PC browsers that do not have the word "Explorer" in the name. This is not just a thing geeks do anymore either. 'Normal people' even use browsers that block browser popups. This, I am sure, does not settle well in M$'s stomach.
