Blizzard offers OS X-native Diablo II installer

When Blizzard Entertainment released Diablo II in June, 2001, Mac OS 9 and earlier were still the dominant operating systems on the Mac platform. Three years later, much has changed: Now Mac OS X is dominant. To better address today's gamers' needs, Blizzard has just released a fully Mac OS X-native Diablo II installer. What's more, a Mac OS X-native version of the installer for another popular Blizzard game, StarCraft, is in development. Source: MacCentral Why is it that Blizzard is the only game house that (now) releases both Mac and Windows versions of their games? That is such a quality that needs to be replicated. I know, I know, the Mac gaming market is very small. BLAH to that. Blizzard does it right. As a side note, I agree with the posters to the MacCentral board, Blizzard games last a long time. I go back and play Blizzard games more than any other console or computer game. I still cannot beat Diablo II on the hardest setting, and I have played it since it came out in 2001. I know, I know, thats lame.

i totally agree with you. Our school gave us free mac laptops (grant from the government), and they are of course macs. I am currently in 10th grade, and so of course i want all the games i can get. However, the only games i had that were mac version were blizzard. Diablo 2 and Starcraft are also some of my favorite games. Also warcraft 2. Blizzard is a quality company.

Hey Clint. You should give World of Warcraft a try too. Its a MMORPG, so you would be loosing a lot of sleep. I would not recommend on a laptop though! As it is from Blizzard, it is on the Mac and Windows.

This move for Apple to Intel chips might make game development easier for the Mac. One can only hope.

I am very envious of you. When I was in k-12 we had one or two older Macs in our class room only. Not a lot of time with the computer when you had a class of 30 or so kids.
