When it's time to burn music, photos, or movies to CDs and DVDs, many Mac users turn to Toast, which has just undergone a major overhaul from Roxio. Sure, this latest version bears some resemblance to Toast 6, but Toast 7 Titanium features some of the most substantial changes to the program in years.Source: MacCentral
Why write a review when someone else has done it already? But Peter is right. One of the other most substantial changes is that it has a manual. Make that a printed manual. I don't remember seeing such a well put together manual (read: more then 5 pages) since Toast 3.
I got my boxed copy of Toast 7 Monday. Toast 7.0.1 was already released, before I even could even cut the tape off of the box. I guess they found some last-minute bugs.
I like the iDVD like DVD menus. It is a heck of a lot better then that ugly blue menue that Toast 6 had. I also like being able to watch DivX files with DivX Pro 6 (included with Toast 7). It is worth noting that the DivX site states that the latest version of DivX 5.2.1 does not work with 10.4 or QuickTime 7. iLife and PSP video support is also great.
I would say it is a great upgrade, and one of the best in years. It is just a shame that Roxio does not believe in upgrade pricing. Every time there is a new version, they force their loyal customers to pony up the full amount. Toast 7 has a lot of great features though, so it is worth it. That and I got a great deal from Buy.com
MacInTouch first look. More good info.
