August, September Will Be Expensive

The tumble weed-slow months of June and July are behind us today. Sure, there were a trickle of games worth buying in that time, but not enough!

Why doesn't the gaming industry spread these releases out? August, September, and October will see the release of some really hot games. Then the holiday rush starts in November.

The launch of the Wii and the PS3 will not help me at all, as their are titles I want for the 360, PSP, DS, and even the PS2 in that same time frame. This is an expensive time to be a gamer, that is for sure.

Why is this going to be expensive? Lets take a look, as this is my "short list," the others are wait-and-see:

Dead Rising, August 8 (Xbox 360)
Star Fox Command, August 28, 2006 (DS)
Saints Row, August 29, 2006 (Xbox 360)
Mercury Meltdown, August 29, 2006 (PSP)

Then, September gets even better:

Okami, September 5, 2006 (PS2)
Yakuza, September 5, 2006 (PS2)
LocoRoco, September 5, 2006 (PSP)
Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins, September 5, 2006 (PSP)
Test Drive Unlimited, September 5, 2006 (Xbox 360)
Mario Hoops 3-on-3, September 11, 2006 (DS)
Final Fantasy III, September 12, 2006 (DS)
Capcom Puzzle World, September 26, 2006 (PSP)

What is on your short list?

Dead Rising
Ninty-Nine Nights
Enchanted Arms
Saints Row, maybe
Starfox Command
If it comes out Bomberman might be bought.

Okami, maybe
Loco Roco
Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins
Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, if it's cheap
Just Cause

FUCK YAKUZA, fucking talentless hacks and Michael Madsen have ruined the voice work.

Don't forget the mass of DVDs too. Star Wars, X3 (in a collector's set), a new Kong (another collector's set), Superman, and for me, a mass of Godzilla flicks fully restored by Classic Media.

That's going to hurt just as much as the games.

TDU = Test Drive Unlimited
