Geekerati Radio: Recession Holiday Shopping for the Geek

Be sure to tune in at 10 PM tonight as Geekerati Radio is having a show with me on it. Yea, total disaster I know. The last time I was on the show, about a year ago in fact, I was pretty new to this Internet Radio thing and Blog Talk Radio.

Show is called "Recession Holiday Shopping for the Geek" and to be honest up until right now the only thing I was told be Christian was "holiday shopping recommendations" but a recession spin on things might be different. We shall see how the show goes. That is what I love about doing these live (that and it cuts down on the post production for a podcast feed!).

So check out the show tonight at 10 PM, or listen to the Geekerati Radio feed.

Two Problems with Facebook Connect and Movable Type 4.23

Just upgraded to MT 4.23. Works fine. Rebuilt everything, can comment, post, etc, etc. No problems at all. So I installed the Facebook Connect plugin (I understand the plugin is in beta) and have all types of problems. First of all, FB comments work. I have that working just fine. You can see that in action here.

Brightkite Action Stream by Yves Luther

Yves Luther has created a Brightkite plugin for Action Streams. If you are using the very basic LI code to create an entire Action Streams block of code:

<li class="hentry service-icon service-<mt:var name="service_type">"> <span class="entry-content">
<mt:StreamAction smarty_pants="1">
</span> </li>

The Brightkite plugin produces this:

„meancode checked in @ 133 N Prospect St“

Keep reading to see my way of changing it.

Christmas Haul 2008

I hope you all had a good Christmas. I made out pretty well, in the giving and getting part. New boots were in order, and they sure are comfortable. It is really hard finding size 14 4E. The boots I like are never ever available for purchase years later when I need another pair.

I got a nice pair of New Balance boots that are Gor-Tex but don't necessarily look like shit kickers. They feel pretty good too, great ankle support which is what I need. Thanks to Dad and Melodye for the boots.

Another gift from mom and pop was a new watch. Same as the old watch, just black, and not 4 yrs. old.

My brother got me a gift card for probably my favorite store in the world, Cabelas.

But my aunt got me the gift that I will remember for a very long time. In our Secret Santa exchange she got me the worlds best gag gift: a beer stein with a bell on it. Yes, exactly.
