prMac Releases > DistCalc Navigation App Breaks Into Top 15
Minneapolis, Minnesota - Developers of DistCalc, the fast growing navigation application for the iPhone, announced that its latest version has broken into the top 15 Navigation rankings on the iTunes App Store. DistCalc is a mapping application that allows users to easily tap out a path and measure its distance in a variety of measurements - including miles, kilometers, yards and meters. Its ability to map paths across areas with no roads or addresses truly differentiates it from other mapping applications in the App Store today.
DistCalc was released in early May and has seen explosive growth and a large following of runners and those training for marathon or ultra type races. There has also been a flood of positive feedback from golfers looking for a simple distance calculator while on the course.
"We knew early on that there was a market for this type of application. All of the mapping applications out there calculated distance after you traveled or ran that distance. Planning a training run, calculating the yards to the front of the green, or just having fun and seeing how many miles it is to Madagascar is made simple and fun with DistCalc" said Jeremy Greene, founder and designer of DistCalc. "We'll continue to listen to the feedback from our 1000's of users and build upon our initial success in the app store" said Greene. "Expect an iPad specific release early this summer."
